Table of Contents
Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai
Of course, an all time favourite about 5 minutes drive from Nai Harn beach is, Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai. Sat right on the beachfront with a spectacular view of the crystal blue sea and bobbling long tail boats, this cafe is filled with cosy booths and comfy leather seats and the refreshing breeze of the cool air conditioning which is much needed in these hot hot days!
With delicious coffee that has been carefully roasted, precisely ground and methodically brewed to bring out the most wonderful flavour and depth, this is the perfect spot for a spot of breakfast, a drop of coffee or an afternoon pick-me-up if you’re lagging a little. Island time does its thing and we all need a few more coffees than we otherwise might!
But, let’s be real, we are all here to find out what to eat in Rawai and the dish that we think makes our humble establishment a real contender for one of the most delicious brekkies in Rawai is our ‘Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict’.
Close your eyes and imagine this: freshly baked warm sourdough bread topped with slow roasted pork shoulder that just falls apart to the touch. This pork is then pulled, laid over the sourdough bread and topped with grated fresh green apple and 2 creamy, perfectly cooked poached eggs. This superstar of a dish is then smothered in rich, delicious apple cider hollandaise sauce and sprinkled with fresh mint and pomegranate seeds.
The interplay of sweet, salty, tart, fresh and the combination of soft creamy textures with fresh crunchy ones make this dish perfectly balanced. This is the David Beckham of dishes, the Beyonce of breakfasts.
If eggs benedict isn’t for you, there’s heaps of other delicious stuff on our Melbourne-inspired menu that might tickle your fancy, or float your (long tail) boat, as it were. Try our classic Aussie fave, banana bread. It’s warm, moist and packed full of flavour, topped with lots of yummy melty butter. Or how about our smashed avo on toast, topped with poached eggs and roasted tomatoes.
Don’t forget to check the menu for lots of our other delicious breakfast dishes like our big breakfast, breakfast burrito, pulled pork wrap, breakfast fritters, or our bacon and egg roll.
We’ve also got loads of healthy options for you, like chia pudding with fresh fruit, seasonal fruit salads, chocolate topped overnight oats, quinoa power bowls and lots more. Don’t forget about our range of salads too which are packed full of yumminess, we don’t serve just any old salad! Check out our grilled chicken Cobb salad which is topped with crumbled blue cheese and drizzled with creamy ranch dressing. Or how about our roasted pumpkin salad with quinoa, beetroot, feta and balsamic. Whatever you’re in the mood for, we have a salad to match, and they taste out of this world.
We can’t leave here without talking about our sandwiches and bagels though. With bread baked fresh in our Chalong bakery, we have lots of delicious sandwich fillings that just might change your life. Try our halloumi bagel, filled with pan fried halloumi, the most amazing smoked bbq cream cheese, pickles and onions. Or how about our New York chicken or classic smoked salmon bagel.
If you want to talk sandwiches, how about chowing down on a yummy bit of bread filled with salami, cheddar cheese, tomato, olives and sundried tomatoes or how about one stuffed with pesto, ham, brie cheese, tomato and sundried tomatoes. YUM. Honestly whatever sanga you order, you’re sure to love it.
And for those who want to get their chops on something a little bit naughty, take a bite of one of our stacked juicy burgers (one of them is even vegetarian) or get that sweet tooth going with our French toast or one of our amazing waffles topped with ice cream.
If you’re asking what to eat in Nai Harn or Rawai, then the answer should certainly be the pulled pork eggs benedict at Poached Breakfast Cafe. With our stunning sea view, unbelievable coffee and breakfast menu that always hits perfectly, you’ll be wanting to come to Phuket just for the food!
Sea Oak
Maybe you’re at the beach for an early sunbathing or swim session and you find yourself getting peckish, wondering what to eat in Nai Harn, then head just steps away from the ocean to Sea Oak. They’ve got a pretty decent menu full of a range of healthy dishes, burgers, wraps and more. But for us, their star dish and the only thing we really fell in love with here is their ice cream sandwich.
Two large, soft, warm oatmeal cookies that aren’t overly sweet and have the perfect amount of chew to them. And what could make that better? Only the delicious vanilla ice cream scoop between them. It’s a little gooey, a little messy but a lot delicious. We’ve eaten a few ice cream sandwiches in our day but sat here, underneath the palm trees, watching the waves hit the shore, there’s nothing quite like the ice cream sandwich at Sea Oak.
It’s a little sweet treat for breakfast, but definitely a great choice if you’re wondering what to eat in Nai Harn.
The CHU Cafe
The CHU Cafe is a cool minimalist cafe in Nai Harn that serves up some great brekky options. They’re small but they do a great job of their menu.
So, what to eat in Nai Harn when you’re at this cafe? The smoothie bowls! They are vibrant (purples, oranges and pinks) and packed full of fresh seasonal fruit, healthy granola and lots of yummy flavour. You won’t want to miss them if you’re in the mood for something healthy and refreshing for breakfast.
They aren’t really a lunch cafe but they’ve got some quality breakfast choices. There are also eggs and waffles for those who aren’t feeling the fruit so it’s worth a visit during your trip to Nai Harn.
Austin Ribs
The final entry in our list of what to eat in Nai Harn and Rawai is Austin Ribs. This spot is easily accessible from Nai Harn, Rawai or Chalong and is popular with tourists, nearby gym goers and expats alike.
Whilst the decor is a little dated, it’s clean, comfortable and feels very peaceful and relaxing in terms of atmosphere. The staff are amazing and we’ve often been treated to free fruit platters or fresh juices on quieter mornings. It’s the little touches that count.
The standout dish for us here are the streaky bacon pancakes. The pancakes are so fluffy and soft and the bacon is fantastic quality and perfectly cooked. Top that with the yummy syrup and you’ve got yourself an amazing breakfast.
This spot is great for kids and families too. There are lots of toys to keep your little ones entertained while you eat in peace. And all the parents said, ‘Hallelujah!’. So, if you get a chance, this is a great place and a strong entry in our list of what to eat in Nai Harn and Rawai.
