Set back only meters from a beautiful, calm, classic Thai beach is Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai. You could grab a takeout coffee (by the way, we have the best coffee this side of the island), cross the road and you are on the beach. White sand between your toes, looking out onto still turquoise waters, watching the Thai flags on the classic long-tail boats flow in the light winds with an incredible coffee in hand. Yes it does! Our Melbourne inspired menu will get you off to the best possible start to the day. We have some egg-straordinary breakfast dishes. The pulled pork eggs benny is a favourite, with tender succulent pulled pork shoulder on delicious sourdough bread, topped with perfect oozy poached eggs, a sharp apple slaw and a creamy hollandaise sauce. This must make your belly rumble! We also love our smashed avo on toast dish, covered in fresh, juicy roasted tomatoes, salty feta that breaks in your mouth, with our classic poached eggs to top the dish off. Our warm, soft banana bread served with melty butter, is also a must mention if you want breakfast here.
If you fancy something a little bit naughty then we have some mouth-watering burgers, the spicy burger will be like a party in your mouth. A juicy beef patty, cheddar cheese, green oak, tangy jalapeño and chipotle mayo filled in a burger bun. We also have a veggie option of our burgers too!
If you are looking for something a little more simple, we have an expansive sandwich and bagel menu too. The ‘Holy Halloumi’ bagel is one that should get anyone excited and down to our cafe. This one really makes me salivate, pan fried halloumi smothered with bbq cream cheese and onions, packed into our homemade signature bagel. If you are on the cheese hype train, then you will love our cheese and brie sandwich too.
This all sounds incredible but we recognise that some of our more health conscious fitness friends might not be so ready for all that. So we give a lot of healthy alternatives too, which have a special Poached Aussie twist to make them taste delicious. The quinoa power porridge with cinnamon and apple twist, overnight oats and our vegan porridge mixed with peanut butter and seasonal berries gives a yummy range of healthy options. We also have a salad menu for you health freaks too! The grilled chicken Cobb salad with crumbly, sharp blue cheese, smothered in ranch dressing is perfect to satisfy your tastebuds.

Sometimes we can dwell too easily on the sugar crashes and we forget the euphoria of a sugar high! A Spoonful of Sugar has some great sugary dishes for you! If you are looking for a spot of lunch, a yummy milkshake or just a real naughty pancake in Rawai, then this is a cool little place to try out.
Sitting a little more inland, the cafe is a cute wooden white house with thatched roofing, under the cover of tropical trees, it looks a bit like a fairy’s house (I might know some real fairy’s, you don’t know). The vibe though somehow really fits well with the menu.
If you would like a warm meal for a spot of lunch the menu actually has a variety of really nice generic western meals such as, tomato soup, ham and cheese sandwiches and vegetarian options as well. They provide a few different types of pancake dishes too, classic plain, banana, wild berry, and pancake with egg (that’s a new one for me, maybe that’s what they feed the fairies). There are also a selection of milkshakes and healthy fruit shakes as well. The menu has a good variety of choices and is a really cool little spot if you’re looking for a nice western meal, a sugary hit with a milkshake, or simply just a pancake in Rawai.
Crepes Factory
Crepes Factory is a real cute spot if you want to grab a crepe or pancake in Rawai. The colourful poppy interior will give you a real fun feel. It’s the perfect funky decor to fit its funky menu. There are so many different pancakes and crepes here. For example, the crepe Spain which has parma ham and fried egg, or crepe norway with salmon and poached egg. Of course, there are sweet options too such as the rum cinnamon pancake or the sugar lemon crepe.
