Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai
Of course, one of the best ways to spend a rainy day in Rawai or even the whole southern portion of the island is to come and grab a bite to eat and a relaxing coffee at Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai. You can sit in our covered outdoor section or our bar seating area by our giant windows that overlook the sea. Enjoy the sounds of rain and thunder as you sip your morning brew and watch the ocean in the storm. What better way to relax than that?
Take some time to journal, crack out a bit of work, catch up with a friend or read a book as you relax and tuck into some fantastic food from our Aussie inspired menu.
Rainy season in Phuket calls for cosy comfort food and nothing is more comforting than our classic banana bread just like mum used to make. Naturally sweet, fragrant and moist, our banana bread is served warm and topped melted whipped butter. So delicious.
If you’re in a breakfast mood, why not try our customer favourite – our pulled pork eggs Benedict. Slow roasted pork shoulder that falls apart to the touch sits on a thick slice of fresh sourdough bread. All of this is topped with grated apple slaw, rich apple cider hollandaise, creamy poached eggs and fresh mint and pomegranate to cut through all that decadent richness. It’s a perfectly balanced dish for a perfectly rainy day.
If comfort is what you’re going for, why not try our stacked waffles or French toast? Served with ice cream and fresh fruit, it’s a little taste of sweetness for a stormy day. And nothing pairs better with a rainy day in Rawai than a cosy, sweet treat.
We’ve also got fantastic bagels like our smoked salmon bagel, our poached New York chicken bagel and, of course, the showstopper itself: the Holy Halloumi Bagel. Pan fried salty halloumi piled high on our freshly made bagel, smothered with smoked bbq cream cheese, pickles and salad. It’s to die for. Maybe not literally but also we wouldn’t judge you if you felt that way!
Don’t forget to try one of our spectacular sarnies (or sangas for our fellow Aussies). With amazing flavour combinations, great quality ingredients and the most wonderful homemade sauces, you won’t want to stop with just ONE! Or, you might prefer to tuck into one of our 3 juicy burgers (one is even vegetarian) that are jam packed with flavour, texture and high quality ingredients. You will fall in love at first bite. (Can you propose to a burger? – asking for a friend…)
Never fear, health fiends, we’ve got stacks of salads and yummy breakfast options for you to try too. Our quinoa power porridge is warming and delicious, or try our prana chai parfait with homemade granola and fresh yoghurt. We’ve worked hard to being you salads with lots of flavour, texture, protein and joy inside so you’ll be coming back over and over for them. Go on, give it a try.
Whatever you choose to eat or drink, bring a cosy activity and come and spend your rainy day in Rawai at Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai.

Another exciting way to spend a rainy day in Rawai is by taking a Thai cooking class. Many of these places also offer drinks to turn your cooking adventure into a cooking party. Woohoooo!
BONUS: Just enjoy it!
Some of us are just pluviophiles (love rain). There’s something freeing about being outdoors in the rain. If you resonate with that, then the world is your oyster. Check out some of the viewpoints, go for a walk in the rain, swim in the ocean while getting pelted by raindrops or surf the choppy waves at nai harn (just watch out for the strong undertow). Then dry off and head to Poached Breakfast Cafe Rawai for the most perfect end to a rainy day in Rawai.
